Somethings (and some people) just aren’t meant to be alone. I think some collaborative works between authors and illustrators the same way. Because you simply can’t think about Quentin Blake without thinking about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Matilda, or the other amazing stories by Roald Dahl. They’ve all been delightfully decorated by Mr. Blake. Quentin Blake and Roald Dahl go together like milk and cookies or peanut butter and chocolate. Blake’s messy, deliberate style marries perfectly with the zany creations of Mr. Dahl. Although Quentin Blake has produced books of his own, I think I prefer him in the company of Dahl. It makes for a memorable experience you want to repeat again and again.
